Energy Advice

Energy Advice

We deliver several energy projects throughout the year; supporting people in North and West Kent who may be struggling with their energy costs or missing out on energy grants and other support.

How we can help

We provide one-to-one energy consultations and free talks and presentations to community groups within our local area. We can provide help in the following ways:

  • Assessing energy spending and how to reduce your energy usage.
  • Clarifying complicated or confusing energy bills.
  • Looking at whether you might be eligible for any energy grants or useful services.
  • Helping with meter reading or billing problems.
  • Discussing your options with energy debts.
  • Helping with complaints to your energy supplier, where appropriate.
  • Giving information on what smart meters can offer.
  • Advising on energy efficiency improvements and grants that can help cover the costs.
  • Raising awareness of the risks of Carbon Monoxide leaks and providing Carbon Monoxide detectors for those who don’t have them.

Over the past twelve months, we’ve helped 177 clients with energy advice and helped them with 780 energy-related issues. With our help, clients have been able to reduce their energy costs, challenge unfair bills, apply for fuel vouchers, get help with the costs of energy efficiency improvements, arrange for smart meters to be installed and apply for useful energy schemes.

We’ve also given 152 clients Carbon Monoxide-related advice and sent out 122 Carbon Monoxide detectors, helping people become safer in their homes.

We’ve reached a further 375 clients through our talks and drop-in events in the North and West Kent area, reaching out to those in our community who may not be aware of or who may not be able to access our services.
