Energy Advice Outreach in the Community

CANWK’s specialist Energy Advice team provides free 1:1 energy advice to vulnerable and under-represented groups within the community.

Energy advisers will provide crisis support, energy advice, and income maximisation advice. Regarding energy advice, our advisers can explain a range of energy topics including:

  • how to reduce energy costs and save money,
  • what financial support is available e.g. energy vouchers,
  • what energy grants and schemes are available, and more

The aim is to ensure clients know what support is available to them, they know how to stay safe and warm and tackle fuel poverty.

This is an outreach service, where one or two of our advisers will provide energy advice in a community setting regularly. Energy advice sessions can be expected to last up to 1 hour depending on the complexity of the energy issue. Clients may require a one-off appointment or multiple appointments. Clients will be informed if any follow-up appointments are required.

This service is live until the end of March 2026. It is funded by the Southern Gas Network (SGN).

What we are looking for

  • are a community space that already supports vulnerable and under-represented community groups
  • can accommodate our team to provide regular energy 1:1 advice within a confidential room
  • have access to free WiFi

If you think your group members would benefit from our energy advice and support and you’re able to provide the above, please email: energy@nwkent.cab.org.uk
