Citizens Advice in North & West Kent

Who we are and what we do
About us

We help people find a way forward Our purpose

We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. At North & West Kent Citizens Advice and Kent Law Centre we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice.

That’s why we’re here: to give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problems.

Building a Fairer Kent

By bringing together Citizens Advice and Kent Law Centre our aim is to provide an open door for those facing a crisis, helping them understand their next steps extending into specialist and legal advice in our areas of expertise

As an independent charity affiliated with both national Citizens Advice and the Law Centre Network, our ambition is to become a genuine ‘one-stop shop’ advice service for the county.

Alongside our generalist advice services, our specialist legal advice covers immigration, housing and homelessness, welfare benefits, debt and family issues; ensuring that vulnerable people across Kent can access high-quality, free legal advice.

We supported over 19,000 clients last year; helping them to resolve problems, build knowledge for the future and feel empowered to take control of their own situations.

Advice, Legal Aid and campaigning for a fairer Kent How we deliver - MOVE THIS TO R&C

No one else sees so many people with so many different kinds of problems, and that gives us a unique insight into the challenges people are facing today.

With the right evidence, we can show big organisations – from companies right up to the government – how they can make things better for people.

We see how problems can be linked. By helping people with the underlying cause of their problems and making sure they don’t get worse, we save the government and public services millions of pounds every year.
