Our aim is to address the underlying complex issues clients face to prevent repeat requests for crisis support. We offered advice alongside the grants even where clients approached us solely for the vouchers.
At Citizens Advice in North and West Kent we offer free expert immigration advice in immigration and asylum law funded mainly by National Lottery Community Fund and the Department of Levelling up Housing and Communities
We deliver several energy projects throughout the year; supporting people in North and West Kent who may be struggling with their energy costs or missing out on energy grants and other support.
Many people come to us unsure of where to start - they just know they need help. We are here to help our Clients make sense of their situation and work out a plan to move forward.
Whilst this has historically been one of our smaller advice areas, it is one that has been steadily growing over the last few years. In 2025/26, we helped nearly 1,000 Clients with family & relationship issues.
Across our service, housing & homelessness is consistently the second biggest topic by number of enquiries. This includes advice on affordability and suitability of accommodation across the public and private sector, as well as threatened and actual homelessness.
Our community-based debt advice is funded by the Money and Pension Service (MaPS). The service is primarily delivered via telephone appointments. However, we do offer face-to-face and video advice for clients who are more vulnerable or would otherwise struggle over the phone.
We are supporting HKBN(O) status holders settle and access support services in Kent. Our primary focus is on delivering and making our free general and specialist advice (immigration, debt, housing, benefits and employment) more accessible to the Hong Kong community.
The Money and Mental Health project is a service offered by Kent Citizens Advice offices to help clients living with mental health issues, who need advice dealing with debt and other related issues.
