Jasmine’s Story

Citizens Advice in North & West Kent "I love volunteering for CANWK and I definitely feel that the work I do helps make a real impact, which is why I continue to do it!"

I’m Jasmine and I started volunteering for Citizen’s Advice North & West Kent in September 2021. I wanted to gain more experience in marketing so I applied for the role of Social Media Volunteer. I help share information for CANWK about events and support which is on offer in the local area, I like the fact that I can help promote these opportunities which are designed to help people.

I manage different elements within social media from writing posts, creating graphics, scheduling content and communicating with other members of the team. I’ve always felt very welcome and a real part of the CANWK team as a volunteer. I love that the work I do has a real benefit and that I can help spread the word about all of the support which CANWK has to offer to ensure that as many people as possible have access to it.

I also help promote CANWK fundraising events through social media, which helps raise money to help continue to fund CANWK to keep providing support to those who need it. Now more than ever CANWK’s services of support and advice are increasingly important with the cost of living crisis affecting so many people, I am happy to give my time to help ensure that these important messages are being shared far and wide.

I love volunteering for CANWK and I definitely feel that the work I do helps make a real impact which is why I continue to do it!
