Citizens Advice in North & West Kent

Jenny’s Story

Citizens Advice in North & West Kent "The work provides me with the challenge of learning new things and interacting with a wide variety of people."

Having retired last year, I decided to take up some voluntary work as I wanted to continue contributing to the local community.

I chose to volunteer for Citizens Advice as their ethos of being completely non-judgemental and providing free help to all appealed to me.

My role as part of the Meet & Greet team is that of a receptionist. I meet and greet clients who have come to the office, try to put them at ease and ensure they are pointed in the right direction. In addition to this, I carry out admin work such as scanning documents and other relevant work as required.

I enjoy feeling I am part of a team ensuring that clients get what they need. The work provides me with the challenge of learning new things and interacting with a wide variety of people.
